Corporate Angels is a fund-raising program created by a group of students from University Science Malaysia(USM) to provide proper means of transport for persons with disabilities(PWD) in the campus.
For years, the commuter bus service had been the main form of transportation in USM. It is used by students to travel some good distances between hostels and lecture halls, and also to carry out activities inside and outside the campus.
Despite the conveniences, these commuter buses are not applicable for students with disabilities. Nevertheless, their physical conditions had hinder them from sharing those privileges enjoyed by normal students. Therefore, to ease their mobility around the campus, obtaining spcial vehicle for them is crucial.
Our
"Corporate Angels" is launched to raise monetary fund which will ultimately contribute to the purchase of a special vehicle to transport students with special needs around the campus. Our slogan of “We Help You To Help Them” indicated the activities of our program. We help companies and corporations as well as good-hearted individual philanthropists to practice their social responsibilities. To achieve this goal, we design several projects to help those parties exercising their corporate social responsibilities (CSR), which is, by giving back to the community.
In an environment of endless selfish pursuit, the fate of the underprivileged is easily forgotten. But helping others just for the sake of helping brings miracles to their lives. And such small miracles are testimonials to the undying spirit of humanity. Therefore, we strive to instill CSR into the corporate world. Because we believe that the joy of helping is immeasurable and the creation of a loving and caring society is within reach.
Our Vision
At Corporate Angels, our utmost concern is non other than obtaining a special vehicle for PWD in USM, considering the hardship they had to endure due to their physical inabilities. And we hope to achieve it fast for the sake of the unfortunate. To be precise, we hope to realise our vision by the end of December 2005.
As part of the community, Corporate Angels strive to provide the Good Samaritans – people just like you – with opportunities to contribute, to be the change you wish to see.
